Raw meat
Deli meat (although can be eaten cooked)
Fish with mercury
shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish, and canned, chunk light tuna
Smoked seafood
lox, nova style, kippered, or jerky
Fish Exposed to Industrial Pollutants (this is primarily for those who fish in local lakes and streams)
bluefish, striped bass, salmon, pike, trout, and walleye
Raw shellfish
oysters, clams, and mussels
Raw eggs
Unpasteurized milk
Unpasteurized soft cheeses
brie, feta, Camembert, Roquefort, queso blanco, queso fresco and Panela
Pate (savory minced meat spreads)
Fresh squeezed juice from restaurants (pasteurized is safe)
Caffeine
should be limited to fewer than 200 mg per day during pregnancy
Alcohol
Unwashed fruits or vegetables
Raw sprouts
including alfalfa, clover, and radish
Herbal products
pills and teas
Prepackaged and preprepared salads, fruit and vegetables
